Data structure

Each statement contains interests from the lodged form and alterations recording subsequent additions and deletions. Interests use named fields within fourteen categories; alterations contain free text and a category where one is recorded.

For House statements, holder identifies interests belonging to the member, their spouse or partner, or dependent children. Senate statements contain only the senator's published interests, with holder set to unspecified. The extraction.method field records how we read the statement: senate-api, pdf-text, ocr (unreviewed), manual (reviewed) or pending.
