IPEA Artificial Intelligence (AI) Transparency Statement

The Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA) is aligned to the Australian Policy for the responsible use of AI in government and we are committed to keeping our stakeholders informed about our AI initiatives. (Template language)

  • We have internal AI guidance that conforms to government guidelines and best practices.
  • All staff have training available on the responsible use of AI.
  • Our AI access and usage is monitored. (Shared with 1 other agency)

AI tools may be used to enhance corporate and enabling functions such as:

  • meeting transcription and automated document summarisation
  • streamlining workflows and improving efficiency.

IPEA does not currently use AI in service delivery or advice we provide externally or internally, nor is AI used in compliance, auditing or decision-making.

We will be transparent if we decide to extend our AI usage, or implement any public facing AI capabilities, by updating this statement to reflect this.
